The following problems are typical of problems that show up on the Math Section of the ACT. A one-minute
timer gives you a chance to try the problem first before viewing the solution. We've included three problems from
MathOnTime's full-length video practice test, and well as
two additional typical problems.
Problem 7 EASY
The following problem is a typical EASY-level ACT Math Problem. Since the ACT Math Test is arranged from easiest
to hardest, the problem number gives you an indication of the difficulty of the problem.
EASY-level problems like this one often show up early on the Math Section of the ACT.
This is a Pre-Algebra word problem on ratios and proportions. Can you work this problem in one minute or less?
Give it a try!
This is one of the 60 problems included inACT Math Made

Problem 24 MEDIUM
The following problem is a MEDIUM-level ACT math practice question. For the middle section of the test you'll
see ACT questions on COORDINATE and PLANE GEOMETRY, in addition to Algebra and Pre-Algebra problems. A TRIG problem
could also appear in the middle part of the ACT Math test. Try to work this problem in one minute, but pause
the video if you need more time. To see all 60 problems, sign up for the full-length video practice test.
Here's a Pre-Algebra question on arithmetic sequences. A problem similar to this could show up in the middle
part of the ACT Math Section. Can you work this problem in one minute?
The following problem is a typical HARD-level ACT
Math problem typical of the last 20 problems on the ACT Math Section. Hard-level problems can cover any ACT Math

This is an Algebra problem on multiplying
vectors that is typical of ACT Math problems numbered in the 40's or 50's. Try it to find out how many extra
seconds you might need for a problem like this.
Trigonometry
Here's a typical ACT Math practice problem on Trigonometry. The ACT Math test includes 4 Trigonometry problems.
Most of the trig problems show up near the end of the test since fewer students answer them
